ALL Carolina Crane & Equipment recently completed a bridge project for Archer Western Contractors setting concrete bridge girders in Greenville, North Carolina. The bridge job, known as the Tar River Bridges Project, involved replacing two older bridges that span the Tar River. The crane selected for the project was a Liebherr LTM1300, 365 ton all-terrain crane. The crane was equipped with 51 feet of hydraulic boom, 92 feet of luffing jib, and 198,000 pounds of counterweight. The entire bridge spanned a length of approximately 1,000 feet. The LTM1300 was specified due to the ease of relocating the crane and capacities needed for the maximum radius of 100 feet. The bridge girders weighed 74,500 pounds. The crane project lasted approximately two weeks and was a very successful job, due in large part to careful planning by both Archer Western Contractors and ALL Carolina Crane.
